Birds + Brews at Terramar Brewstillery

  • Terramar Brewstillery 5712 Gilkey Ave Edison WA, 98232 (map)

Curious about the incredible wetland species we have here in the Pacific Northwest exclusively during the winter? Join professional naturalist and experienced birders Kate and Daniel Brown of Bird Bellingham for a combo indoor/outdoor Birds & Brews outing at Terramar Brewstillery in Edison.

What to Expect: Paritipants will spend the first 45-60 minutes indoors enjoying drinks and optional food (tickets to this event include a drink!) while local bird experts chat about how to identify the common winter species we are likely to spot in this area, share fun facts about what makes them special, and review some photos and videos of the birds you are likely to see here in Skagit county.

Once we are done with our brews and bites, we will then head outside with our binoculars and scope to see what amazing birds we can find, this area is ideal for watching huge flocks of ducks and geese flock back to their roosting grounds as the sun sets.

**Bring any binoculars you might have (we always have a few pairs to loan out if needed)**

Species commonly sighted here include: Bald Eagles, Snow Geese, Tundra and Trumpeter Swans, Northern Harriers, diverse winter ducks, and Great Blue Herons.

Location+Accessibility Note: We will be meeting inside of Terramar’s “community room” at 3pm.

Binocular Donation: If you happen to own any pairs of functional binoculars that you no longer use, we are always accepting donations so that we have quality pairs to loan out to participants, helping us keep birding as accessible as possible for everyone in our community.
