A relaxed, monthly bird walk for birders of ALL experience levels- whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting your birding journey, come find your flock outside with other nature loving queer folks!

Walks are always facilitated by a queer naturalist and experienced birder

Lake Padden East

The flat, accessible trail around Lake Padden is a lovely place to explore in the moody magic of winter, and offers great looks at winter birds up close.

Wiley Slough

Wiley Slough is a loop trail around a created wetland that is full of beautiful wetland birds, songbirds, and raptors! We will meet in the parking lot.

March 29th: 10-11:30am Whatcom Falls Park

Whatcom Falls offers great opportunities for spotting songbirds, as well as wetland species by Derby Pond.

April 26th : 10-11:30am  Cornwall Park

Cornwall is an amazing gem right in the middle of Bellingham! This Park offers views of a variety of songbirds, owls, and woodpeckers. We will meet at the meridian street entrance near the covered pavilion.

May 31st : 10-11:30am Whatcom Falls Park

Whatcom Falls offers great opportunities for spotting songbirds, as well as wetland species by Derby Pond. Use the park entrance across from Lafeen’s donuts, used to access the tennis courts and pump track.

Marine Park Picnic Pavilion

The Post Point Trail is incredibly short, but offers incredible views of nesting Great Blue Herons, and can be good for small songbirds as well!

Boulevard Park

Boulevard Park is a lovely flat boardwalk trail that offers incredible views of Bellingham Bay and lots of pelagic and shore birds.

Lookout Mountain Trailhead

This trail can offer views of some higher mountain species due to it’s slightly higher elevation than downtown Bellingham.

Stimpson Nature Reserve

The Post Point Trail is incredibly short, but offers incredible views of nesting Great Blue Herons, and can be good for small songbirds as well!

Whatcom Falls Park

Join us at Whatcom Falls to enjoy the last bit of autumn. This Low incline trail includes great looks at wetland pond species and forest loving songbirds

Fir IslandFarm Reserve

Join us at Fir Island Farm Reserve in Skagit county to get our first peak at winter ducks, snow geese and swans!

Semiahmoo Park

The flat, accessible trails at Semiahmoo offer water and mountains on both sides, as well as views of Canada!
