Sunday Morning Bird Walk: Winter Birds of Lake Padden

Curious about the incredible wetland species we have here in the Pacific Northwest exclusively during the winter? Join professional naturalist and experienced birder Kate Brown for a relaxed Sunday morning bird walk around Lake Padden. We will chat about what to look and listen for while birding, discuss some of the common species we are likely to spot and what makes them unique- then set out with our binoculars and scope to see what amazing birds we can spot! Bring your coffee, donuts, and any binoculars you might have (I own a few to share!)

Species commonly sighted here include:

  • Diverse winter ducks including: Goldeneye, Scaup, and Blue-winged Teal

  • Bald Eagles

  • Brown Creepers

  • Multiple species of Woodpeckers

Accessibility Note: We will be meeting at the covered pavilion by the playground at Lake Padden (East Entrance). The entirety of the trail is completely flat packed dirt/gravel, and there are bathroom facilities at the trailhead. Ages16+
