Curious about the incredible winter Bird species we have here in the Pacific Northwest? Join professional naturalist and experienced birders Kate and Daniel Brown for a relaxed Sunday morning bird walk along the shores of Semiahmoo Park. We will chat about what to look and listen for while birding, discuss some of the common species we are likely to spot and what makes them unique- then set out with our binoculars and scope to see what amazing birds we can spot! Bring your coffee, donuts, and any binoculars you might have (I own a few to share!)
Species commonly sighted here include:
Diverse winter ducks including: Harlequin Ducks, Goldeneye, Scaup, Northern Pintail and Bufflehead
Great Blue Herons
Bald Eagles
Accessibility Note: We will be meeting at the first parking lot on the left when you first drive into Semiahmoo-don’t drive all the way down the spit! The entirety of the area we will be exploring is is flat paved trail or flat sandy/rocky shore gravel. There are bathroom facilities at the trailhead. Ages16+
